Services provided

SACDC Small Business Assistance Program has two principal objectives:

(A) Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization and Oakland City Economic Development.

(B) Assisting in the development and expansion of existing businesses as well as the establishment
of small and minority businesses.

 

Financial

· Training in Loan Packaging, Budget Preparation, Forecasting and Analysis
· Identification of Financial Sources
· Assistance in Negotiating and Securing Loans· Assistance in Negotiating and Securing Bonds Identification of Equity Funding Sources· Assistance with Fiscal Management


Starting a New Business

· Assistance in Contract Procurement
· Identifying Sources of Available Small and Minority Suppliers
· Training in Financial Concepts.
· Identification of Financial Sources
· Provision of Materials on short and Long Term Financing
· Securing Legal Assistance and Other Specialized Management Service/Referrals

Management

· Provisions of Business Review Systems in Inventory Control, Distributions, Quality, Control, Purchasing and Production
· Workshops and Seminars on Business Techniques Including Accounting Principles and Methods, Taxes and Withholding Requirements, Office Systems Management, Record Keeping and Reporting
· Marketing, Merchandising, and Advertising Consultation
· Consultation on Management Principles (including Personal Management, etc.)
· On the Job Management Assistance
· Referrals of Small and Minority Businesses to Procurement Sources
· Legal Referrals Relating to Union, Management, and Employee Disputes
