The project serves as a model of racial and ethnic
cooperation in a neighborhood which is the most diverse
in Oakland. Respecting the multicultural mix of the area,
the interior and exterior design includes art from
a cross section of ethnic artists. Project completion: Fall,
1995. The development won the Golden Nugget Award "Best
in the West" from the Pacific Coast Builders Association, for the
Best Affordable Housing Project /Attached. 1995. In
September 1997 the development received the Rudy Brunner
Silver Medal for Excellence in the Urban Environment.
